You might accuse us of being biased – yes we are a letting agency in Newcastle – but we can’t help but smile when we think of this city – it’s a fabulous place to live, work or to be a student. For those of you who are new to the area or are planning to make a move here for your studies – we’ve put together a guide to a few Newcastle highlights for you:

Cultural hotspots

Step into Newcastle and it’s not hard to believe that there are more cultural venues per person than in any other city in the UK, art galleries, museums, theatres and concert venues pepper the city. Moreover, in contrast to some cities, many of the art galleries and museums don’t charge an entrance fee, so there is plenty to inspire you.

Sports to the fore

Yes, we love our football team, but don’t forget there is a lot more sport on offer too, with cricket, ice hockey, rugby, racing and athletics just a few of the sports within easy reach of the city. For cycling enthusiasts, the c2c route runs right through Newcastle on the banks of the majestic Tyne and we are also immensely proud to be the home of the biggest half marathon in the world – the Great North Run.

Nightlife second to none

Where do we begin? For those of you who like a night out with friends, there is no shortage of venues to enjoy; bars, restaurants, pubs and clubs proliferate in this exciting city – many of which are award-winning – you need never stay home on a Saturday evening again.

Supreme shopping options

You won’t find yourself short of shops in Newcastle either, from your favourite high street stores to independent retailers there are options aplenty. Grainger Market is one of our top choices, where you’ll find almost everything you need in one location – a Newcastle must-see, utterly unique.

Saunter through the Sunday quayside market for top-tasting treats and a wide selection of arts and crafts. Alternatively, step into the Metrocentre – Europe’s largest indoor shopping and leisure complex or sample the delights of Eldon Square – for your favourite department stores and more.

Country and coast

Study in Newcastle, and aside from the many attractions the city has to offer, you’ll also be in close proximity to stunning countryside and the compelling North East coast. Explore Hadrian’s Wall country, sit back and relax on Cullercoats Bay or potter around picturesque Tynemouth and see where the river meets the sea.

Hidden gems

Step off the main thoroughfares and explore the hidden gems of the city, stroll along the Ouseburn, explore the Victoria Tunnel or step back in time when you discover Blackfriars.

Newcastle is a vibrant city, one blog post can’t really do it justice – there is too much to shoehorn in – there’s just one solution, you’ll have to move here and find out for yourself what an exciting city it is.
